Dear Friends,
In Kenya each day I see the impact of limited educational opportunities for our youth. It blocks all avenues for growth and understanding and results in a continuous cycle of deplorable poverty. Yet, we as ambassadors of peace, march on against all odds with the Beverly School vision as we transform this dream into the remarkable reality on the ground. This gives me great hope for the future of the Beverly School children and their families.
This reality is being made possible by your efforts and support, our brave and generous friends, our extended Beverly School family! The construction of the Beverly School is on target and proceeding encouragingly well. It is wonderful to observe each week the progress being made on the construction of the three buildings (classroom, dormitory and guesthouse) and the preparation of the school farm. I wish to thank all of you for all the hard work that you have contributed during the past several months, your time, ideas, donated items, sponsoring a child to attend the Beverly School and other cash contributions which continue to be greatly needed!
I would like to extend a special thanks to all those who organized the dinner and auction at Holy Cross and the NY cocktail party and all those students collecting coins, soccer cleats and packing books for our school. You have enthusiastically decided to make a difference in the world, one day and one dollar at a time - mydollarbuiltthischool.com.
I want to encourage all of us to keep in our hearts the huge task that Peter Maher and Brian Moses have taken upon themselves to ride across the United States this summer to raise funds for the Beverly School. This decision brings victory to my heart!
God bless you all.
Alice Mudiri

Shoppers at the Kenyan Marketplace at the Epiphany School Fundraiser in NYC
Last Saturday wasn't your usual evening at the Epiphany Parish Hall. Denise Finn, Kathleen Pharo and Mary Jane Higgins and their committee transformed this hall into a Kenyan Marketplace. Handbags, wooden treasures and jewelry were all for sale. After celebrating Abdi's birthday, guests danced to the music of the Fourth Grade Dads as over $40,000 was raised for the school.

Under the direction of Bill Buck, our container is nearly ready to go to Kenya. Filled with desks, beds, school supplies, sports equipment, nearly 5,000 books, and medical supplies, the container will take 4 months to travel. Thank you to all of the students, families and individuals who helped on the project over several weekends during February and March. Thank you also to Brit Mscisz who raised $700 to help defer the shipping costs and collected over 200 pair of soccer cleats. Thank you to National Development (Newton, MA) for donating this essential storage space!
